Moscow crt dismisses Yandex’s complaints about video blocking

MOSCOW, Sep 7 (PRIME) -- The Moscow City Court has dismissed procedural appeals of Internet company Yandex against temporary blocking of pirated copies of series of TV channels of local Gazprom-Media Holding, the court’s press secretary Ulyana Solopova told PRIME on Friday.

“The procedural appeals against application of interim measures upon claims by (TV channels) 2x2, TV 3, Parnas Media were considered and dismissed, and the decisions of judges of the Moscow City Court stayed as they were,” Solopova said.

The appeal regarding TV channel TNT will be studied later.

The court will consider at the week starting September 10 the appeals against the cancellation of interim measures, under which the communications service obliged Yandex to erase links in Yandex.Video to the disputed content.

The TV channels have already asked the court to permanently block pirated copies of their series.
